"Climate change is public health's greatest challenge...Everyone has a role in public health and climate change whether they know it or not." -- APHA Executive Director Georges Benjamin at the Year of Climate Change and Health Kickoff Meeting
APHA has declared that 2017 is the Year of Climate Change and Health. Goals for the year:
Increase awareness of the health impacts of climate change: and
Mobilize action on climate change to protect health.
Help build momentum for the movement. Join us in the Year of Climate Change and Health, and become a partner. Your contribution, whether large or small, is invaluable. How can you partner with APHA as a Change Agent, Change Maker or Climate Champion?
- Organizational partners can support the Year of Climate Change and Health many ways, including sharing information with your network, contributing to monthly theme content, hosting a conference or meeting on climate change and health, and much more. Become an organizational partner.
- Individual partners can commit to any of a wide range of climate activities including reducing their carbon footprint, improving the energy efficiency of their homes, posting about climate change on social media, recycling, contacting their legislators about climate change, attending town meetings, and many more. Become an individual partner.
As a Year of Climate Change and Health partner, you will help critical information reach a wider audience while helping improve understanding and action around climate change and health. Let's work together to make sure both the best science and policies that address health are in every conversation about climate change solutions.
