Combatting Tobacco Together

Webinar // Washington

Sep 23 2014, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST

We have had many successes in the battle against tobacco. Smoking rates have declined significantly in our lifetime. But 18 percent of adults still smoke – that is 42.1 million people. Cigarette smoking is still the leading cause of preventable death, killing 480,000 people each year.

This discussion focused on ways to continue to reduce tobacco's impact. APHA, CVS Health, the acting surgeon general and our distinguished panel explored how we can all come together to reduce tobacco use, improve population health and reduce costs to the health care system.
