Resources and Guidelines

Prepare for a successful presentation with the following guidelines and information:

Have your session recorded as part of RAMP — Recorded Annual Meeting Presentations (RAMP) is a digital library of scientific sessions. Presenters are automatically opted in unless they decline to be recorded during the PowerPoint upload process in the Speaker's Corner. Purchase RAMP to gain access your presentation along with thousands of others. Purchases APHA 2020's RAMP through online registration (Available June 2020) or click the link above to purchase access to past Annual Meetings

Presenter Registration

Presenter/Organizer/Moderator Policy — Presenting at the APHA Annual Meeting and Expo is an exclusive benefit for individual members of APHA. If you don’t have a current membership, join through the registration process. Session organizers, moderators and presenters are required to pay the appropriate registration fee for full or one-day access to the meeting. Employees at Agency/Organization Members are able to become an individual member of APHA at a discounted rate in order to present at the conference. 

We encourage presenters to register for the full conference; however, presenters have the option of registering in advance for one day when they provide their abstract ID during regsitration.

+This discounted membership rate is available only if your agency or organization is a member of APHA. An agency code is required. This membership type is eligible to present at the Annual Meeting and is only required of Employees at Agency and Company/Consultant Members who plan to present. *Student must be enrolled in a degree program and should be taking at least 6 credit hours (undergraduate degree) or 3 credit hours (graduate degree) per semester or comparable credits in a quarter system. Proof of status is required.

**Individual who has graduated in the last 24 months and is transitioning into the workforce. Proof of status is required.

Rules and Regulations

Speakers who fail to show up for their presentation without notifying the program planner (PDF) of cancellation will not be permitted to present papers or posters at any APHA-sponsored meeting for two years following the "no-show". 

Copyright Issues — If you are using materials in your presentation (pictures, charts, graphs, videos, etc.) that are not original work, remember to cite the original source. If you are drawing heavily on another source, it is your responsibility to seek permission from the original source to use the material.

Publication Rights — Abstracts submitted and accepted for the APHA Annual Meeting may not be presented at any other meeting or published in any journal prior to Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020. If an author wants his or her paper published after the meeting, it is the author's responsibility to submit his/her paper to a journal for publication. Professional journals have their own format requirements and specifications for manuscripts. Consult the journal of your choice before submitting your paper.
